UN Human Rights Council will review the human rights record of the government of Spain as part of its Universal Periodic Review. Spain should be named and shamed for its worrying treatment on digital rights issues. In its latest encroachment, authorities have criminalized the use of legitimate encryption and security tools.
In response to recent events, british chief parasite David Cameron has suggested a ban on encryption. The target is the type of encryption which doesn’t already contain convenient built-in backdoors for governments to use. The Daily Mail has revealed that people could be being watched in their own homes or at work as hackers are targeting webcams and uploading the live footage to the internet.
