Urbanista #15 Exploring abandoned Thuy Tien sculpture creation camp, Hue, Vietnam

Hue held five international sculpture camps in 1998, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008 producing 140 works. Most of the pieces were put on display at parks along Huong River.

Urbanista #14 Abandoned Old Terminal Luang Prabang, Laos

On the way to the airport of Louangphabang or Luang Prabang in Laos you can’t missed the silhouette of Asian pagoda style building of the old international terminal of the city on the left side of the road. It is situated 500-1000m from the new International Terminal. 

Luang Prabang got rid of its old terminal building in 2013. The old building was not enough to support the growing needs of faster service for all international and domestic flights.

Now it is left to decay and disappear silently into the jungle surroundings. At least for now…. Continue reading

Urbanista #10 Abandoned Paper Mill / Abandonada Cartonera el Papiol

Today’s stalker trip is – an Abandoned Paper Mill near Barcelona. El Cartonera – El Papiol was build in 1793 and the mill was one of the most productive paper and carton mills in the area. In the beginning of 20 century diesel engines replaced the water mills. The building has 5 floors and 180 windows.

After massive flooding in 1983 some parts of the buildings collapsed and the Factory closed doors forever. Some parts of the three main buildings

The upper part of the Cement Conveyor is build over 3 supporting concrete pylons. The belt line is from covered type and in very good condition. The line stopped production in 2012.
