Located south of the former city gate (the “Barrière d’Enfer” at today’s Place Denfert-Rochereau), the ossuaries hold the remains of about six million people and fill a renovated section of caverns and tunnels that are the remains of historical stone mines, giving it its reputation as “The Continue reading “Urbanista #2 Catacombs in Paris”

We visited Port Vell and Corbera de Ebro last weekend. It is exactly 77 years after the battle for Ebro-The bloodiest battle during 2 years long civil war. This town was completely destroyed during 25 July–16 November 1938 and although the lower part of the town was rebuilt, the upper part, known as Poble Vell (Old Town), including the old church on the hill, has been kept as a reminder.
The town has one of the five information center Continue reading “Urbanista #1 Abandoned part of Corbera de Ebro-77 years after the “Battle of Ebro””

Photographer Dan Eckstein traveled over 10,000km across India’s byzantine and burgeoning road network documenting these elaborately decorated trucks festooned with lights, brightly colored text, paintings of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian deities, pop cultural fixtures and geometric patterns–symbols representing a blinding mashup of new and old India.
This sculpture as of October 2014 is the smallest creation of the human form in history.
Last weekend we went on a trip in Catalan North. In Argelaguer we found an amazing place hidden in the outskirts of the village. The forest construction project has been started by Josep Pujiula i Vila – 40 years ago and after he began to add to it more locations and installations.
Inspecting the area, which was built on public land, the government quickly deemed Pujiula’s homemade park a dangerous environment. Continue reading “Weekend in Catalunya-The Shelter of Josep Pujiula i Vila”

The festival of San Fermín in the city of Pamplona (Navarre, Spain) is a deeply rooted celebration held annually from 12:00, 6 July, when the opening of the party is marked by setting off the pyrotechnic chupinazo, to midnight 14 July, with the singing of the Pobre de Mí.
